Walking Near the Horseshoe Pass, Llangollen, North Wales

Reflections in a pond at the garden of remembrance on the Ponderosa.

A show of purple heather on the mountainside

Grasses and flowers growing wild above the Horseshoe Pass.

Wild purple beauty in the mountains

Following the track to pastures unknown

A multitude of purple heather growing freely on the mountains

A carpet of wild flowers for as far as the eye can see

Sunshine yellow gorse grows side by side with the heather

Surrounded by natural beauty

The pass winds its way through the mountains

Climbing high above the valley

“The beauty of the trees, the softness of the air, the fragrance of the grass, speak to me.

The summit of the mountain, the thunder of the sky, the rhythm of the sea, speak to me.

The strength of the fire, the taste of salmon, the trail of the sun,

and the life that never goes away, they speak to me.

And my heart soars.”

Chief Dan George

    • Thank you. I love the heather too. The whole mountainside and all along the trail were covered in one big carpet of heather and gorse – a lovely combination. Blessings from Lizzie Joy

    • Thank you. I’m pleased you like them. I have a growing passion to share the wonderful beauty that I am blessed to encounter, and I’m further inspired when I hear that others are enjoying it, too. Blessings from Lizzie Joy

    • Hi Wendy Thank you for your comment. I like that picture too. The title just flashed into my mind and I thought how apt it was. We just never know where life will take us, but I have learnt to go with the flow, and to enjoy the journey. Blessings from Lizzie Joy

    • Thank you. The Horseshoe Pass is a particularly beautiful part of North Wales, which I am privileged to visit often, as it is on my doorstep. I must admit, though, that it’s only since I took up photography, recently, that I am truly seeing the tremendous beauty around me everywhere. Blessings from Lizzie Joy

      • Dear Lizzie Joy, I know what you mean about seeing things more deeply through our art. I’m glad you stopped by my post but I seem to have lost the connection to the comment you left. As you can see, I too, came to a deeper appreciation of what to me seemed quite ordinary only to discover that there is very little that is ordinary in this world.. I’m enjoying your posts a great deal. What may look familiar at first glance I find holds the mystery of Wales and I can almost smell the heather from here.

      • Thank you for your lovely comment. We do indeed live in a most wonderful world, but sometimes we don’t see the beauty that is staring us in the eyes. Following my heart’s passion, via taking up photography, is awakening me on a grand scale to the awe-inspiring wonder that is our earthly home. Blessings from Lizzie Joy
